Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hardy and Anna Friel are among the high profile actors taking part in the new Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

A YouTube video is being used to highlight the urgency in needing to find new treatments for cancer, showing the stars running towards the camera. Others involved in the video, directed by Greg Williams, include Sheridan Smith, Idris Elba, Gillian Anderson, Steve Coogan and Michelle Dockery. Cumberbatch commented 'I'm standing up to cancer because some of the real life heroes amongst us, scientists and researchers, need funding so they can continue their life saving work. Cures are within our grasp and we can’t slow down in our fight against this terrible disease'.
